Welcome to the ” Beatles Let It Be Now ” Blog. We will be discussing the life and times of the Beatles, the "Let It Be" album and song, and some of the bands ideals. Come along for the ride…
The Beatles were a musical group formed in Liverpool, UK in 1960. The group included John Lennon (rhythm guitar), Paul McCartney (bass guitar), George Harrison (lead guitar), and Ringo Star (drums). Each of the members sang on various songs.
John Lennon formed a skiffle group called “The Quarrymen” in March, 1957. Paul saw them perform at a church function, and joined the group on July of the same year. In March, 2008, George was invited by his friend Paul to see the group, and he soon joined as the lead guitarist. Finding a drummer was a much more formidable task. After many changes, and much turmoil, the group settled upon Ringo Star.
For the most part the group perfected it’s craft in the nightclubs of Hamburg, Germany. They also performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, and their popularity gradually grew.
In January, 1962 the Beatles signed Brian Epstein to become their manager. He took them to George Martin, a producer at EMI, and eventually they were signed to a recording contract.
The Beatles entered the UK’s record charts with “Love Me Do”. Their single, “Please please me” was met with much greater enthusiasm. With “From Me To You” they were on their way to dominating the record charts, and the public’s hearts.
Domination of the US market was to be delayed for various reasons, but in December, 1963 Capitol Records released “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, and the Beatle domination of the US market was on it’s way.
So, after the UK, the US, what’s next? The world of course! In the years to come the Beatles did either a tour or concert in Denmark, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, and the US.
As the years progressed, cracks in the group started to appear. Their final album, “Abbey Road”, was recorded in the summer of 1969. The last time all four Beatles were together in the same studio was during the recording of the song “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”.
John announced his departure to his fellow band members on September 20, 1969, but this was not made known to the general public until a number of legal matters were resolved. Paul put the nail in the coffin of the group so to speak when he filed a suit for the dissolution of the band on December 31, 1970. This finally took effect in 1975.
Here at ” Beatles Let It Be Now ” we are committed to promoting the legacy of this great group. We welcome your thoughts and comments.

On May 8, 1970 the Beatles released “Let It Be”, which was to be their 12th and final studio album. Due to the increasing tension between the band members, the rehearsals and recording sessions were tension filled occasions.
The songs on the Beatles Let It Be Album were:
Side #1
1. “Two of Us” (composed by Lennon/McCartney). John Lennon played acoustic guitar. Paul McCartney played the acoustic guitar. George Harrison played the six-string bass guitar.
2. “Dig a Pony” (composed by Lennon/McCartney)
3. “Across the Universe” (composed by Lennon/McCartney). John Lennon played acoustic guitar. George Harrison played the tamboura.
4. “I Me Mine” (composed by Harrison). Paul McCartney played the Hammond organ and electric piano. George Harrison played the acoustic guitar.
5. “Dig It” (composed by Lennon/McCartney/Harrison/Starkey). John Lennon played the six-string bass guitar. Paul McCartney played the piano.
6. “Let It Be” (composed by Lennon/McCartney). John Lennon played the six-string bass guitar. Paul McCartney played the piano.
7. “Maggie Mae” (arrangement by Lennon/McCartney/Harrison/Starkey). John Lennon played acoustic guitar. Paul McCartney played the acoustic guitar. George Harrison played the six-string bass guitar.
And on…
Side #2
1. “I’ve Got a Feeling” (composed by Lennon/McCartney)
2. “One After 909” (composed by Lennon/McCartney)
3. “The Long and Winding Road” (composed by Lennon/McCartney). John Lennon played the six-string bass guitar. Paul McCartney played the piano.
4. “For You Blue” (composed by Harrison). John Lennon played lap steel guitar. Paul McCartney played the piano. George Harrison played the acoustic guitar.
5. “Get Back” (composed by Lennon/McCartney). John Lennon played lead guitar.
Additional Musicians were also used on the record. They included Richard Anthony Hewson, George Martin, and Billy Preston. Linda McCartney was also singing backing vocals on the song “Let It Be”, but it was uncredited on the album sleeve.
Background
By late 1968 Paul McCartney was feeling that the group should get back into the recording studio and develop an album that made little or no use of “studio magic”. He felt that this would allow the group to get back to their roots and lessen tensions within the band. Sadly, this was not to be…
Finishing Touches
In March, 1970 the session tapes of the recordings were given to Phil Spector, the American record producer who had a reputation for inventing the “Wall of Sound”. When he was done, the album was released on May 8, 1970, but the Beatles had already broken up by that time.
McCartney was very unhappy with the version that Spector had released. In particular, “The Long and Winding Road”, which McCartney had intended to be a simple ballad on the piano, had grown into a complex song with orchestral and choral accompaniment. He tried to halt the release of this version of the song, but was unsuccessful.
Reception
“Let It Be” met with mixed reviews when it was released, but this reaction has “mellowed” over the years.

Brian Samuel Epstein was the manager of the Beatles from January 24, 1962 until his death on August 27, 1967. He also managed other musical artists, such as Gerry & The Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, Cilla Black, and the Remo Four, but the Beatles were by far the most popular.

| Beatles Lyrics – Let It Be Big and Tall Lounge Pants for men |
What was the impact of Brian Epstein on the group? He has long been attributed to the success of the Beatles, especially in the early years. In the words of Paul McCartney, “If anyone was the Fifth Beatle, it was Brian”.
Brian was born on September 19, 1934 in Liverpool, England. At the age of 16 he expressed his desire to become a dress designer. His father was mortified at this suggestion, and ordered him to “report for duty” at the family’s furniture shop. This was not Brian’s idea of a meaningful career, but he did comply.
Supposedly the first time Brian heard of the Beatles was via the issues of the Mersey Beat, and on the numerous posters that were displayed around Liverpool at the time. On November 9, 1961 he heard them perform at the Cavern Club. Immediately impressed with their sound and sense of “on stage” humor, it all started from there. The Beatles signed a 5 year contract for Brian to manage them on January 24, 1962.
This was the first time that Brian entered into the arena of “artist management”, but he made his impact on their early dress-code, and the attitude that they displayed on stage. He encouraged the group to wear suits. He also stopped them from smoking, swearing, drinking or eating onstage. Remember the synchronized bow at the end of the Beatles performances? It was Brian who suggested that move.
Brian made many trips to London to try and secure a recording contract for the Beatles. He was rejected by many labels, including Columbia, Philips, Pye, Oriole, and Decca. The Decca audition in particular is historic, and we will be discussing this in another post. Eventually Brian worked his way over to EMI, and they were signed by their Parlophone label after the group had been rejected by almost every other company. George Martin, the A&R manager of Parlophone, who had never even see the Beatles play, said it was Brian’s enthusiasm that won the deal.
Brian died of a drug overdose on August 27, 1967. The Beatles did not attend the funeral as they wanted to give his family privacy, and they would only have drawn the media and fans. Years later, in 2008, the first contract that the Beatles signed with Brian was auctioned off for 240,000 pounds…

“Let it Be”, the song, was released by the Beatles in March 1970 as both a single, and the title track of their album “Let It Be”. The single reached #1 in the U.S., Australia, Norway, Italy and Switzerland, but only to #2 in the United Kingdom.
——————————————————————————————————————————
——————————————————————————————————————————
It was credited to Lennon/McCartney, but it is generally accepted to be the work of Paul McCartney. It was the final single released by the Beatles while they were still considered to be an active band.
McCartney has said that the idea for the "Let It Be" song came after he had a dream about his mother during the time of those tense recording sessions for the “White Album”. It was his own mother, who died of cancer when he was 14 years old, that was the inspiration for the “Mother Mary” in the song. He has said that the dream was a blessing, and it was great to see his dear mother again. In the dream his mother issued the words “It will be all right, just let it be”.
The first recording of the Beatles Let It Be song was at Twickenham Film Studios on January 3, 1969. A single take was recorded, with just Paul on piano and vocals. The first group attempt of the song was on January 8 of the same year. Multi-track recordings of the song started on January 23, 1969 at Apple Studios.
On March 26, 1970 Phil Spector did a remix of the song for inclusion in the “Let It Be” album. His version featured the January 4, 1970 guitar solo (except on the first chorus), an echo on Ringo’s cymbals, and like he did on “The Long and Winding Road”, a more prominent orchestra. Allen Klein had Phil Spector mix the “Let It Be” album without telling Paul McCartney, or asking for his agreement on this matter, because he did not sign Klein’s management contract. Paul later complained that he was not happy with Phil’s production of the song.
Here’s the breakdown of the performers on the songs:
Paul McCartney – played piano, maracas, as well as both lead and backing vocals.
John Lennon – Fender Bass VI.
George Harrison – lead guitar.
Ringo Starr – drums.
Bill Preston – organ and electric piano.
Linda McCartney – backing vocals (only on the single release version).
The “Let It Be” song has generally received positive critical acclaim. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it as #20 on it’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. Allmusic has declared that it was one of the Beatles’ most popular and finest ballads.

Music festivals take place in cities all over the country. One of the most important festivals for any group that's seeking a record deal is probably SXSW. Frankly, any festival that allows or encourages unsigned talent to participate is worth a look, and groups should be pursuing these opportunities whenever possible. In particular, bands should be looking for festivals where someone who is either connected to a label or working for a label will be attending.
Music Festivals take place in cities like Cleveland, Dallas, and Kansas City every year. Festivals in these cities are at times hosted by a company called Gorilla Music, who brings in A&R and record label reps to each event in order to give local bands a chance to have their music heard by assorted members of the music industry.
Last year at The Cleveland Music Fest, Jeff Blue, who was responsible for discovering Linkin Park, found guitarist Lance Dowdle, who was in a local group in called DNA. Jeff helped Lance get signed to Atlantic records, and he now plays guitar for a band called Emphatic. Playing on a show where a talent scout is in attendance is a great way for a group to get discovered quickly.
Music fests also afford local groups the chance to play in front of a huge crowd, since the festivals themselves drawn such a large audience on their own. Playing a festival with a bunch of other bands and tons of potential new fans gives local acts an amazing chance to network on a scale far superior to that which they'd experience at a regular local show. It goes without saying that playing these large shows also gives bands a chance to sell a pretty good amount of CDs, T-Shirts, and other assorted merchandise.
Local music festivals are an awesome way for communities to work together in support of their local music and entertainment scenes. Hopefully companies and record labels will continue to show support for these types of events all around the country, and more and more bands will see results from playing these types of shows in the future.
Companies like Gorilla Music and Eagle One Entertainment put on local Music Festivals all over the nation. These music fests are a awesome way for local bands to gain exposure, play for huge crowds, and get their music heard by industry representatives!

With the individual way they are decorated, Luna electric guitars stand apart from their competition. But, they are more than just attractive instruments. The use of lightweight wood and easy to use components make them ideal for all players. Add to it the fact that they are suitable for all budgets and they make a good first guitar. When it is time to look for a guitar, this is certainly a brand worth considering.
Something that makes all of the Luna models noticeable is the detailed ornamentation. The neck of every guitar they make is adorned with moon phases that act as fret markers. Along with this signature, all models have their own look and style.
Along with the moon phase frets, each Luna model hast it's own sense of style. The Henna line has a pick-guard with henna design laser etched into it. The grill work of classic automobiles is recalled by the nickel tailpieces on the Athena models. And, the small Neo Mini has a large pick-guard that gives the guitar a two tone look.
Wood is the key component to making a guitar. Luna's different electrics are made of light weight woods. This is beneficial to people who want to play for long lengths of time without feeling weighed down. It also helps for young beginners who do not have the strength to hold a heavier instrument.
The quality of a guitar's wood is not just determined by it's weight. Also important is the sound the wood helps make. Lunas are all made from mahogany or maple. For creating a good tone, these are two of the best wood types.
No matter what the physical size of a player is or their skill level, this guitar brand is suited to them. The components are lightweight for easy hold-ability. They also feature thinner necks so people with smaller hands can reach all the notes.
Possibly the best feature of this guitar brand is the price. They are instruments which are comparable to any on the market but, they have a style that can fit any budget. This is good for working musicians as well as youngsters who need an inexpensive guitar to learn how to play.
Guitar playing can add plenty of enriching moments to a person's life. It allows for self expression, the sharing of music with friends, and it can help one make a living. To be a good guitar player requires a good instrument. Luna electric guitars provide a good option for those who want to make music.
The choice of many amateur and professional musicians is Luna electric guitars. The quality and appearance of Luna guitars makes them great for looks and playability.

Glue in Guitar Necks
There's a bunch of things that can go screwy when setting the neck on electric guitar kits. Most kits such as saga guitar kits are of the bolt on type and this will help you stay out of trouble usually (though you do still need to be certain your alignment is set properly). But if your neck is a glue in model you need to get your scale length correct and make sure you are using a suitable glue. Scale length is extremely important, we wont go into detail here re: getting the scale length correct but needless to say if you are unsure of how to set scale length you should research the topic further.
As far as an appropriate glue to set your electric guitar kit neck stick to Titebond or something of a similar nature and make sure you use timber blocks when clamping to avoid damaging the neck. Dependent on the glue you use you need to let the neck sit for at least 12-24 hours and do not forget to only use as much glue as you need. If you use too much glue there's a strong chance you'll have remaining glue between the neck and cavity which can affect your sustain, you should be aiming towards neck against body timber.
Manually cutting the headstock
Begin with the end in mind. E.g. Have a template good to go and transfer the shape you need onto the electric guitar kit headstock before cutting the timber using something non-permanent e.g. Carpenters pencil. Ensure when you do start to cut that you stay well and truly on the outside of the marking as it is always easier to adjust inwards than fix a cut made too near to the edge.
Once pleased with your shape start sanding back using a rough gauge sandpaper or file and work your way down to a light gauge sand paper. Be patient and think about your profile not only the edge of the headstock and you will end up with a fantastic end product.
We cover every aspect of electric guitar kits at eguitarkits.com. Click here for more tips on assembling guitar kits and some good resources for staining and painting the finished product.

Earning the title of guitarist is a major accomplishment for any individual learning to play the guitar, who can understand the commitment, energy and time required to attain that title. Once the decision has been made to become a guitarist, the next important mile stone is the job of choosing the actual instrument for the task. One of the more established and ground breaking companies for producing guitars of excellence is Yamaha.
This is in fact, a classical guitar, not an acoustic guitar but as there are no reviews on this site, we will put it in the category of acoustics. This guitar contains 19 frets with 20 for the E strings which cannot be played and because it is a classical guitar, it has strings of nylon. It is attractive as normal dark wood seems to be what the body is made to look like. It looks just like a normal classical guitar. I believe that there is a gig bag incorporated if the "starter kit" is purchased but the guitar was the only item that I decided to buy.
As the Yamaha C-40 is a classical guitar, it is suitable for playing anything. The sound quality is fantastic whether it is played using a pick or simply using your fingers, (the personal preference of many guitarists). This instrument sounds truly phenomenal. The sound is of an excellent quality and the cost is only $200, Canadian. It is a fairly quiet instrument, not too noisy but of course this all depends on how heavy one strums.
The Yamaha C-40 has fantastic quality with a flawless finish. It seems as though the finish will always be there (probably because there really is no finish). The shape of the body is perfectly aligned to fit my legs thus making it comfortable for me to play. Sturdy is the word I would use to describe the Yamaha C-40. It has fallen on the floor, been hit a number of times with sharp implements, banged into walls; it has been scratched in a few places on the bottom and the finish has a few scratches but it still sounds wonderful. In fact, it sounds just as good today, as it did the very first time I played it. It has been one whole year now since I purchased the Yamaha C-40, and it looks as if it will last for a very long time except for my banging into many things with it. I have not yet played live with my Yamaha C-40, but feel confident that I will in the future and am sure that it will endure.
Yamaha has been very successful in blending modern guitar manufacturing technologies with some of the most beneficial aspects of the traditional techniques of Spanish guitar making. They have done so through thorough research, extensive experimentation and critical analysis. To ensure that each instrument is of the highest possible standards, Yamaha Corporation has instituted an all-inclusive quality testing system. This has resulted in Yamaha bringing to the consumer, the Yamaha C-40, an instrument of remarkable performance and quality at a really affordable price. The Yamaha C-40 classical guitar, is therefore, a superb option for the student guitar player. The Yamaha C40 GigMaker Classical Acoustic Guitar is suitable for novices or individuals with limited funds. In fact, the C-40 series has guitars that are full sized and although the price is affordable, the quality is still the high level provided by Yamaha. Prices start at $140.
Learn more in regards to the Yamaha C-40 guitar's fantastic details and advantages at our webpages. While there take a look at the Yamaha F335 guitar also, you will be glad you did!

The fastest, most convenient way to find the best swing bands is via the web. However the question is: how will you make sure you get precisely the high quality of live band you're searching for? Here are a few effective tips you may use when hunting a band on the web and booking the most appropriate one on your event.
Search on the internet Conduct a quick Search using keywords that have the type of band you want and particular location. One example is, if you're searching for a local swing band, key in "swing bands in London" on Google and you are going to soon get enough choices you could look into.
You could also search on YouTube much the same way. A lot of skilled bands post their live show videos or short promos there, that could often lead you to their official website to find their info as well as information you need to consider regarding the band.
Filter out the search results Making sense of your discoveries is crucial. You have to sort the end results and separate a top quality swing band from a bad one. Listed below are some useful considerations as you continue the selection process:
Website quality. You could tell a whole lot about a live band simply by looking at their site. Does the web site present a fantastic professional approach to their image or "brand"?
