The Beatles: Let It Be

For Sale Today

The Beatles were a musical group formed in Liverpool, UK in 1960.  The group included John Lennon (rhythm guitar), Paul McCartney (bass guitar), George Harrison (lead guitar), and Ringo Star (drums).  Each of the members sang on various songs.

John Lennon formed a skiffle group called “The Quarrymen” in March, 1957.  Paul saw them perform at a church function, and joined the group on July of the same year.  In March, 2008, George was invited by his friend Paul to see the group, and he soon joined as the lead guitarist.  Finding a drummer was a much more formidable task.  After many changes, and much turmoil, the group settled upon Ringo Star.

For the most part the group perfected it’s craft in the nightclubs of Hamburg, Germany.  They also performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, and their popularity gradually grew.

In January, 1962 the Beatles signed Brian Epstein to become their manager.  He took them to George Martin, a producer at EMI, and eventually they were signed to a recording contract.

The Beatles entered the UK’s record charts with “Love Me Do”.  Their single, “Please please me” was met with much greater enthusiasm.  With “From Me To You” they were on their way to dominating the record charts, and the public’s hearts.

Domination of the US market was to be delayed for various reasons, but in December, 1963 Capitol Records released “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, and the Beatle domination of the US market was on it’s way.

So, after the UK, the US, what’s next?  The world of course!  In the years to come the Beatles did either a tour or concert in Denmark, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, and the US.

As the years progressed, cracks in the group started to appear.  Their final album, “Abbey Road”, was recorded in the summer of 1969.  The last time all four Beatles were together in the same studio was during the recording of the song “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”.

John announced his departure to his fellow band members on September 20, 1969, but this was not made known to the general public until a number of legal matters were resolved.  Paul put the nail in the coffin of the group so to speak when he filed a suit for the dissolution of the band on December 31, 1970.  This finally took effect in 1975.

Here at ” Beatles Let It Be Now ” we are committed to promoting the legacy of this great group.  We welcome your thoughts and comments.
